Transitions in marriage

Last week, we discussed the fundamental steps to take to prepare for a happy marriage. We pointed out how critical it was to establish the right dating pattern to deal with couple challenges when they arrive.  In today's article, we will focus more on some of the transitions families go through during their marital Longlife experiences and the types of behavior couples need to adopt to avoid marriage friction.       Whenever I search the meaning of the word Transition on Wikipedia, it amazes me to see how this word, no matter its context,  describes the act of leaving a place, a state of mind, or even a device that I will call A to upgrade to something more refined, more ennobling and more fulfilling that I will call B. In other words, it is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another. Although this seems to be a good thing to do, the process is not of small effort. the act of transiting comes...

Preparing for Marriage

Marriage, this simple but powerful word over centuries has been used in various times and settings we can think of to express the love and the biding of a man and a woman in this mortal life. Although this definition, today in our modern time, has been twisted to take a suitable meaning to human ears, we should nevertheless remember that marriage between a man and woman has been ordained of God and is the channel through which Heavenly Father sends his spirit children to experience mortality and go back to him. Because it is something of much importance, God has provided a way for marriages to last forever through the power of the priesthood authority. In the scriptures, we learn that God married Adam and Even and everything that is done by the power of God is to last forever. That's why members of the church of Jesus Christ believed that marriage can last for time and eternity. but before we go too far away from our topic let us come back to what we will be talking...

Gender and family life.

It is a pleasure to write to you once more about a family-related subject you may or may not have encountered during your life. The title of this article throws some little tips on what we will talk about.               Gender and family life have always been at the center of human lives. Everything we do and become is shaped by how we have been trained in our families. In last week's article, we were able to explain that every family has its own rules, and those rules after constant repetitions become family culture. In connection to that, gender and family life explores how gender, sexuality, and, kinship relations shape individuals' experiences.           Before diving into exploring this week's topic, it is important to define the differences observed between females and males to know how family influence can affect the gender and the personality of peopl...

Family Culture.

One Year ago, I made a constatation of how frequent it was getting to see many of the people I knew, who were joyfully married getting divorced. It also appeared to me that what seemed to be inconceivable in the minds of many for decades, because of frequency has started to become accepted as reasonable and a normal thing to do.  As such, getting divorced is no more something society wants to avoid or prevent by helping the couple who is struggling with a family relationship but it has become part of life.  Although having this blog set was part of a school assignment, what made me excited was the fact of contributing to reteaching the family values that the world is losing. That's why this blog focuses so much on the family because I want the readers to make wise family decisions and to be informed about how to start developing the right family culture that leads to Happiness and peace.            Family c...

Different families theories

According to the online dictionary definition, a theory is  a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. it gathers sometimes many facts to help us understand or even get closer to understanding why things are and how they are. A theory looks for answers and is an essential approach when we want to advance in our part with the surety of making the right choices in the world we live in.  Seeing that it is important to make theories before taking decisions, let us consider the implementation of the act in our quest of establishing a good family.                When it comes to family, a theory is made out of the interrelatedness of factors, including the influence of one member's behavior upon another. It also takes into count the family system individuals live in an...

Current trends in the family, and the impacts of those trends

Jean Jacques Rousseau once said: There is no picture more charming than that of the family. This simple but powerful statement allows us to understand how the family is the most sacred unit in this world. Through the family, we learn to be men and women of principle who will have poignant impacts on society. Based on this analysis, it is important to note that this can only be effective if this unit is governed by values, rules, and also a healthy mode of operation. Today, I would like to speak as my theme suggests about current trends in families and how these trends affect the family and society. According to the online dictionary, the word tendency is described as an inclination toward a particular characteristic or type of behavior. That suggests that members of the family unit turn their hearts, minds, and strengths on things beyond the bond of the family circle. Before talking about what those outside trends are, let's look at the inner tools families have received to be guid...

Welcome

Welcome to my website. I am Jared Kouassi Golet from Ivory Coast, a country located in the western part of Africa. It has been a week since I started my education at the famous Brigham Young University Idaho ( BYUI). As part of this institution, I am taking a Family Relations class this semester,  where the teacher asked us to start writing about the various problems and trends that are going on in families. That is the reason why I am here today. So, I will be writing each week about a particular subject attached to the family. I will also give solutions with all objectivity by quoting from many sources. Because the church I belong to (The Church of Jesus Christ of later days saints) centers its teaching on family, I will be quoting some of our leaders who gave their opinion on the subject we will be seeing. Please buckle up and welcome aboard. Jared Kouassi-Golet.
