Current trends in the family, and the impacts of those trends

Jean Jacques Rousseau once said: There is no picture more charming than that of the family. This simple but powerful statement allows us to understand how the family is the most sacred unit in this world. Through the family, we learn to be men and women of principle who will have poignant impacts on society. Based on this analysis, it is important to note that this can only be effective if this unit is governed by values, rules, and also a healthy mode of operation.

Today, I would like to speak as my theme suggests about current trends in families and how these trends affect the family and society.

According to the online dictionary, the word tendency is described as an inclination toward a particular characteristic or type of behavior. That suggests that members of the family unit turn their hearts, minds, and strengths on things beyond the bond of the family circle. Before talking about what those outside trends are, let's look at the inner tools families have received to be guided in the right way. First, the family is inspired by God, and as such its members are entitled to receive divine help and revelation to lead the family. Fathers and Mothers have this solemn responsibility to care for and nourish their children with the Word of God. To confirm that saying, let me refer you to the Family proclamation of the Church of Jesus Christ of later days saints which will give you more understanding about that. Secondly, a good relationship between family members solidifies the family and helps each member to know where to turn to in times of need and comfort.

After reviewing the family tools trends, we can now tackle the trends we talked about earlier. Firstly we have the influence of social media which pushes parents and children to no longer spend time together. family gatherings that once were a sure way to strengthen family relationships have become places of deafening calm. This first fact has major consequences that impact family cohesion. The lack of communication sets in and the children stop seeing their parents as models of pride but as equals. Second, there is the impact of society on family life. We live in a changing world that calls good evil and evil good. 
I will not mention all the trends today but my objective today in this article is to make you understand how easy it is to break this family unit that is conducive to the good development of children. 

In a conclusion and because every family is different, I would like to invite you to think about some ways and patterns you have to establish in order to safeguard the unicity of your family. for those of us who have already crossed the line and think it is too late, please don't give up. As time goes on, I will share tips about what we can do to regain love and Harmony in the family.
